1. Argumentative Essay - For this essay, you will assign the blame for the tragedy to a particular character.  (You may not argue that blame is to be shared, unless you're arguing for a group - such as the witches.)  Be sure to support your argument with evidence from the play!!

2. Theme Analysis Essay - For this essay you will perform a literary analysis, focusing on a particular theme presented by Shakespeare.  Use the attached file for assistance.

Happy Presidents' Day!
Last class (2/16) we finished The Count of Monte Cristo
Here is the schedule of what we will be doing for the next three classes:
2/22: work on our projects for Japan
2/24: work on our projects for Japan
2/28: meet with our groups for our books. everyone should have 20% of the book read by this date.
Everyone should be in the process of getting a book or have a book!!

Today in class we took our test on the Arthurian Legend.
Projects are now due Friday (2/10/12) because the test took a while.

In class we talked about chivalry and the status of chivalry in today's world. We also signed up for project categories like we did for Beowulf projects.
HOMEWORK:
-our test on Arthur will be MONDAY (2/6/2012)
 we may use a note card (regular size) on the test, but you need to make it before hand
- talk and plan with your groups! the project will be due next Wednesday!!!!

 Read and take notes on/print (whatever works for you) the medival files under "literature & Handouts" in the ap english iv tab. Then pick anything on the Authurian legend, research it, and then take notes on it. We will turn in our notes next class (12/20).

I was out; my daughter has a terrible ear infection.  The doctor told us not to freak out if it ruptures.

Began Beowulf in class on the 10th.  If you're planning on getting your own copy of the text, make sure you get the Heaney version.

AP prompt, prompt editing, and reading group discussions when I was out on the 12th.

Be sure you've gotten the Anglo-Saxon notes from the downloads page.
